Arc of Sun's double single release ‘Mater Ignis’ (Latin for ‘Mother Fire’) from their album ‘Unfold’ (including a shortened Goldfish Edit), is an abstract art rock piece spinning a dense post-industrial atmosphere of intricate beats, lush ethereal vocals and exotic Middle Eastern tinges. The song moves progressively through a hypnotic, dystopian ode to a goddess of fire. Sung in English and Latin, the vocals paint an otherworldly scenario with ritualistic and mythic themes set against a backdrop of a society falling into ruin.
